A Fontanella, il progetto riunisce tre abitazioni autonome in un organismo basso e articolato. La planimetria assegna a ogni unità il proprio accesso e il proprio giardino, mentre il disegno delle coperture costruisce una figura comune. Gli arretramenti dei fronti distinguono le singole case e ricavano spazi protetti davanti alle aperture. Il tema centrale è la convivenza tra vicinanza e indipendenza: tre modi di abitare lo stesso insieme, ciascuno con soglie e affacci riconoscibili.

In Fontanella, the project brings three independent homes together in a low, articulated ensemble. The plan gives each unit its own entrance and garden, while the roofs establish a shared outline. Setbacks distinguish the individual houses and create sheltered spaces in front of their openings. The central theme is the coexistence of proximity and independence: three homes within one ensemble, each with identifiable thresholds and outlooks.

Gli ampi sporti di copertura, riconoscibili per l’intradosso scuro, collegano visivamente le tre residenze. Il loro bordo segue avanzamenti e rientranze dei fronti, facendo percepire le singole unità entro un disegno continuo. Le pareti bianche si arrestano o arretrano sotto questo segno, ricavando ingressi coperti e porzioni di terrazza. Le finestre aggettanti introducono una seconda scala. La profondità delle imbotti individua un luogo tra la stanza e il giardino, attribuendo all’apertura una presenza architettonica autonoma.

Broad roof overhangs, distinguished by their dark soffits, visually connect the three homes. Their edges follow the projections and setbacks of the façades, making each unit legible within a continuous design. White walls stop or recede beneath this line to form covered entrances and sections of terrace. Large projecting window frames introduce a second scale: their deep reveals create a place between the room and the garden, giving the openings an architectural presence of their own.

L’autonomia delle abitazioni si legge anche nei piccoli spazi esterni. Le cornici delle finestre, le porzioni di pergola e gli arretramenti delle pareti delimitano ambiti raccolti per sedute e tavoli. Gli inserti dai toni caldi si concentrano attorno agli accessi, rendendoli riconoscibili lungo i fronti bianchi. Siepi e aiuole completano questa suddivisione alla scala del giardino, accompagnando i percorsi senza interrompere la figura comune delle coperture.

The independence of the homes is also expressed in their small outdoor spaces. Window frames, pergola sections and recessed walls define intimate settings for seating and tables. Warm-toned accents gather around entrances, making them identifiable along the white elevations. Hedges and planting beds complete this division at garden level, accompanying the paths while retaining the shared outline of the roofs.

Le viste mostrano come il medesimo sistema costruttivo produca situazioni domestiche differenti. Una cornice profonda individua l’affaccio del soggiorno. Altrove, la copertura si prolunga sopra una terrazza o accompagna un ingresso laterale. Il progetto delle tre residenze si risolve in questa variazione controllata degli elementi comuni. Ciascuna casa trova la propria misura nel rapporto tra porta, finestra e spazio aperto, mentre l’insieme mantiene una riconoscibilità unitaria lungo tutto il perimetro.

The views show how the same architectural system produces different domestic settings. A deep frame identifies a living-room opening. Elsewhere, the roof extends above a terrace or accompanies a side entrance. The three-home project is resolved through this measured variation of shared elements. Each house finds its own scale in the relationship between door, window and outdoor space, while the ensemble remains recognisable around its entire perimeter.
